ENVIRONMENTAL AGENDA PROGRAM
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Goals - The implementation of an environmental approach in public administration aims at reducing the potentially aggressive impact of its actions, projects and programs, as well as contributing for the change of the current patterns of production and consumption within the institution. This will enable a socioenvironmental sustainability.
Some of the main goals of the Environmental Agenda Program are: to promote the discussion on the environmental problems in all the spheres of the public administration; to stimulate the adoption of actions and procedures leading to a rational use of the natural resources and public goods; to stimulate and promote changes in the public servant's daily habits; to rekindle their ethics and self-esteem, and to increase the quality of their service.
It is a preventive strategy that tries to avoid, reduce or control any environmental negative effect of the institution's actions, considering the dimension of the planning and execution of its programs and projects and internalizing costs.
