Number of Brazilian voters abroad grows
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The number of Brazilian voters abroad has significantly grown in the recent years.

In fact, it was verified that the number of enrolled voters ascended from 86,202  in 2006 to 200,392 in 2010.

Voters living abroad correspond to about 0.15 percent of the Brazilian electorate, which amounts to 135,804,433 citizens qualified to vote.

There are tens of electoral sections throughout the five continents; the biggest electorate is in the United States, with 66,940 voters.

In Europe, the country with the biggest number of enrolments is Portugal, with 23,182. In Oceania, it is Australia, with 1,980. In Asia, 11,821 of the Brazilian voters are concentrated in Japan, and in the Middle East, Lebanon has 1,341 enrolled voters.

From among the countries bordering the Brazilian territory, Argentina totals the biggest number of enrolled people (4,291), followed by Paraguay (4,155) and, surprisingly, by French Guiana (3,278), which has more registered voters than Uruguay (1,514).

This growth is also due to the campaigns carried out by the Brazilian Electoral Justice everywhere, which aimed at bringing the exercise of citizenship to all Brazilians, wherever they are.
